Average number of released slots (8am–9pm) by day of week over the past period. Each club is scaled to its own busiest day, since the venues differ by a factor of ten — compare bar heights within a row, not between rows.

Newly freed slot lifetime

Median time newly freed courts stayed visible. This includes the ones nobody ever booked — over half of freed courts are never taken — so it does not tell you how fast a court goes. The "When cancellations appear" table answers that. Same-day releases first, then previous-day. Sample size in parentheses.

Outdoor season and indoor demand

How the outdoor season shows up in demand for indoor courts, week by week. Helsinki clubs, weekday evenings 4–8pm. Three panels on one week axis: as outdoor venues open, indoor scarcity falls. Scarcity = what share of evening hours had no free court at all at 8am. Booking rate = what share of freed courts were taken before the game started. Hover a panel for a week's exact numbers.

When cancellations appear

How long before the game a cancellation showed up, and what happened to it next. Helsinki clubs. Each bar is every cancellation in that band: the coloured part was taken before the game started, the empty tail never was. The shade says how fast — darkest within 15 minutes, next within the hour, lightest at some point before the game. The line under each label is what portion of all cancellations fell in that band. Covers courts that appeared less than two days before the game; anything showing up earlier is the hall's normal calendar, not a cancellation. On the top band the game starts too soon for the 15-minute and one-hour figures to be measurable, so that bar is hatched rather than split into segments. Note too that courts are checked every 15 minutes, so anything taken faster than that goes entirely unseen.

The bar's colour is the venue's booking rate over that season, and › means courts have still shown up this week. A bar that ends does not necessarily mean the courts have closed — information can also be missing because every court was booked. The timeline shares its axis with the chart above, so opening weeks can be read against the curve.

What share of freed one-hour courts (9am–10pm) were taken before the game started. Two dots on one scale: the further apart they sit, the more a venue's indoor and outdoor demand differ.
